The Broken Shelves Series

An interconnected standalone series about healing from religious trauma and falling in love.

When Elli’s ex boyfriend announces his engagement two months after he breaks up with her, she does the only rational thing she can think of—she moves 1,300 miles away from the only place she’s ever lived. She's in the midst of a faith crisis and needs space from the toxic culture she grew up in to figure out what she wants.

Wes Jones hasn't been interested in dating anyone in the two years since his terrible break up, and now he's lost his musical inspiration. When his "brother" asks him to go on a blind date with his girlfriend's older sister, Wes is reluctant but agrees.

Wes and Elli are virtual opposites, so what happens when they’re forced together on a blind date? Will Wes find inspiration for his music? Will Elli finally let go of the religion she was raised in?

After the end of her almost eight year marriage, Hannah Layton is stuck in a never-ending revolution of awful blind dates thanks to her mother’s meddling. One day, she gets a text from an unknown number who also had a bad date, and they start a friendship founded on the commiseration of their dating lives and the need for a friend.

Morgan Fowler is a single dad to a nine-year-old and looking for someone to share his life with. Though he doesn’t seem to be having much luck. He vents about his stagnant love life with the stranger he accidentally texted and starts thinking she might just be someone he could have a future with, even though they’ve never met.

When they decide to meet in person, Hannah’s surprised to learn her mystery friend isn’t another woman, but a man. A man who then offers to be her fake boyfriend to put an end to her mother’s incessant need to marry her off.

When things start to not feel so fake, will they take the step to actually be together? Or will their fake relationship come to an end?

Emma Price has rules in place to protect her heart.

No kissing.

No sleepovers.

No repeats.

Benjamin Rossi has a job to focus on and no extra time for a relationship, but he occasionally participates in activities at The Temptation Lounge when the mood strikes.

When Emma gets a one night pass to the lounge to explore her kinks in a safe environment, she and the man she’s paired with hit it off immediately.

It goes so well, they plan to meet again the following week.

Emma starts her dream job a few days later and, much to her dismay, finds out the mystery man from the club is not only her new coworker, but the owner’s son and the man in charge of training her.

She can’t risk her job, and he doesn’t like his pleasure  bleeding into his business. So they agree ending the arrangement is for the best.

But will they be able to resist the temptation of each other? Or will they both break their own rules?

  • The amount of times I squealed over things in this book is embarrassing, but I truly loved it so much! If you are looking for a new spicy contemporary romance (that has a super discreet cover) then this may be for you.

  • This story is just warm and fluffy. I seriously was so mad life got in my way of reading. I could read 10 more books of just this little world and group. The way Wes treated, loved and adored Elli made me ache for that same kind of love. Also Wes…Eddie Munson coded…ILL SAY NO MORE.

  • Talk about a book you can’t put down!!!!!! This book had me giggling like a school girl. It’s such a cutesy romance novel. As an ex-Mormon myself the topics of this book were so raw for me, but I loved every word. So well written, I recommend this book 10000x!

  • DAISY WREN HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!! This book is so so good! Beautiful story! If you are ex-religious (specifically ex-Mormon) you need to read this book. The way Daisy writes about religious trauma is so spot on and is so healing ❤️‍🩹

  • Daisy. Wren. Goodness gracious. I don't know that anyone can write growth and healing after severe religious trauma like she can. Daisy Wren also depicts deconstruction and healing so beautifully. Leaving an institution that purports benevolence while harming its members is incredibly difficult. The women in this Broken Shelves series are all in various phases of leaving the Church and Wren writes this so eloquently. Their experiences are so tangible.
